My name is Janet Petrie and I am the owner of Desjardins Holistic Therapies in Dundas, Ontario. As a child I spent my summers in England playing in the most spectacular gardens. I was surrounded by lavender plants and kitchen gardens with fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables. It was here I discovered my love for plants, scents and beauty. I finished school and worked in Retail management for several large companies like Club Monaco and Winners but felt it wasn't the right fit for me, something was missing. I left the retail management world and went out on my own. I opened a home and garden shop in my home town. I named it Desjardins Home & Garden. It was open and successful for 7 years before I found my true calling. I went back to school in 2004 and studied Aromatherapy. I was home! I became a certified Aromatherapist in 2006 and a Complementary Health care practitioner. I am certified to perform all the services I offer. I created a skin care line several years ago that is clean and free of parabens and harsh chemicals, called NaturalBella. I am also a Bach Flower Practitioner, which gives me the opportunity to work with clients to help ease the burden of heavy and overwhelming emotions.
On a personal note I have been able to do a lot of personal growth work myself over the past 23 years. I was fortunate to have a mentor who encouraged me to look deeper. To explore my reactions to people and situations, to eventually heal my self. This journey was not easy but it has been worth it. Through These experiences I have become a practitioner who is able to appreciate where my clients are and how to guide them lovingly toward their own healing. I work hard to create a space that is nurturing and safe, full of love, acceptance, non-judgement and compassion. I love what I do and am so very grateful to be able to work with clients daily on a deep level through body work.
